The Laser MegaJoule, with its 176 beams, combined with the PETAL, a high-energy multi-petawatt laser beam, offers the opportunity to study matter in the state of “hot dense plasma” under extreme temperature and pressure conditions that can reach more than 100 million degrees  Celsius and 1 billion times the atmospheric pressure. In the universe, this type of condition is found in stars such as our sun where nuclear fusion reactions produce radiation that provides our planet with light and warmth.

POLYRISE contributes to the Laser MegaJoule program by offering its expertise in the wet anti-reflective treatment of very demanding optics.

Sol-Gel anti-reflective coating is applied to the very large optics that constitute the LMJ laser chains in a 700m² clean room workshop ranging from ISO5 to ISO8.
