In late January 2025, POLYRISE was pleased to host the fifth RELIANCE Consortium Meeting, marking a key milestone for the project 18 months from completion. This event provided an opportunity for partners to come together to discuss technical and strategic advances, while strengthening ties within the consortium.
Notable advances included the improvement of the repellent properties of sol-gel hybrid nanocoatings, the successful scaling up of nanoparticle formulations, and the optimization of deposition techniques on various substrates such as stainless steel, glass, and textiles. These advances place the project on a promising trajectory as we move toward the validation phase of prototypes and functional systems at the industrial level. Developments achieved by POLYRISE are aligned with POLYRISE’s objective to propose new sustainable fluor-free easy-to-clean coatings to industrial markets.
As part of this meeting, POLYRISE hosted a tour of its facilities, providing attendees with an overview of its expertise and commitment to innovation in the field of nanocoatings, from the development of new functional coating materials to the implementation of deposition on customer parts. This exchange allowed to better understand the technical challenges and opportunities for applying the technologies developed within the framework of RELIANCE.
Beyond the scientific and technical discussions, the members of the consortium also had the opportunity to discover the rich heritage of Bordeaux during a guided tour through its historical monuments. This cultural immersion, despite the capricious weather, continued with a friendly dinner highlighting local gastronomy.
We warmly thank all the participants for these constructive and enriching exchanges. Thanks to this close collaboration and a common ambition, the RELIANCE project continues to progress towards the development of innovative antimicrobial nanocoatings, contributing to safer and healthier environments.
See you at the next stages for new advances!
