APPLICATIONS
Front lighting is experiencing a revolution, not only in styling innovations that differentiate with brand-specific shapes, but also with higher performing light distribution for a safer drive. With Adaptive Driving Beam’s glare-free, high-resolution image projection optical system, headlight technology is achieving the most significant innovations in automotive lighting in decades.
Front lighting is getting smaller and smaller while providing light only where needed but also beaming high-definition images to communicate with the driver and his environment.
This is only possible with the addition of multi-optical elements in the headlight, leading to many Fresnel losses.
VIEWRISE® antireflective coating applied to each lens of a headlight greatly reduces the stray light that superimposes on the main light beam thus helping the lighting device comply with ECE European regulations.
In the meantime, the Light Output Ratio increases, which generates electrical power savings and contributes to the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions, for a healthier environment
VIEWRISE® is technically designed to withstand wide temperature variations in order to meet the severe conditions a vehicle experiences
SENSORS
Development of Advance Driving Assist Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AV) is predicted to be one of the major trends of the automotive industry for the next decade.
Besides the cost of sensors, whether they are Camera or LIDAR, the challenge is to detect the 3D environment with accurate, high resolution at long distances, while guaranteeing sensor integrity and reliability for the entire life of the vehicle.
Whether the sensor is operating in the visible or near infra-red wavelength range, the adjustable anti-reflective VIEWRISE® reduces reflected light waves and ghost images while it also increases sensor detection distance.
HARDRISE® anti-scratch coating adds a protective layer to the exposed surface of the sensor. Both HARDRISE® and VIEWRISE® coatings are designed to support the wide temperature variations that vehicles encounter.
OUTDOOR LIGHTING
Consequences of excessive artificial lighting are not limited to the deprivation of observation of the starry sky. It is also a source of disturbance for biodiversity, due to the modification of the prey-predator system and the disruptions of reproductive cycles and migration routes; plus, it represents a considerable waste of energy.
In order to limit light pollution, a French decree imposes upon municipalities and public areas a limit on the Upward Light Ratio (ULR), as the expression of the quantity of light spread above the horizon, to less than 1% of the total luminaire flux. In order to meet this obligation yet retain the luminaire’s style, manufacturers must find a way to reduce the light reflected by the 3D shaped protective cover.
Well-designed lighting fixtures naturally spread 2% to 3% of the light into the sky because of reflected light. VIEWRISE® antireflective coating contributes greatly to reducing this amount of undesired light and reaching the limit of 1%.
The unique wet antireflective coating can be applied on any geometric shape and form factor.
